For his time as you dont kill fellow vampires without punishment as you dont kill fellow vampires without punishment as far as godric he said himself that 2000 years is enough think hed grown tired of being vampire and was ready for his time to an end.
For humans to be on tv shes on earth guess he was just tired of.
